Kim Rae-Won and Park Hoon are cast in the SBS drama series “Full Count”. The drama series will be the first baseball-themed series to air on SBS since “Hot Stove League” in 2019. The story of “Full Count” will depict a power struggle between two coaches who want to become the permanent manager of their Stars baseball team. Kim Rae-Won will play Hwang Jin-Ho. He was a backup catcher during his playing career and now works as the Stars’ batting coach. Park Hoon will play Jo Dong-Hee. He was a heralded pitcher for the Stars and is now a pitching coach for their team.
“Full Count” will premiere next year in South Korea.
Plot synopsis by AsianWiki: Hwang Jin-Ho (Kim Rae-Won) was a catcher, who spent most of his playing career as a backup. He now works as a batting coach for the popular Stars baseball club. Although he is highly regarded as a coach, he remains an outsider in the exclusive atmosphere of the club. He serves as interim manager of the Stars as they are on the verge of elimination from the playoffs. The profession is seen as a poisoned chalice.
Meanwhile, Jo Dong-Hee (Park Hoon) was a legendary pitcher for the Stars and is now the pitching coach for the team. Despite his successful pitching career, he is haunted by the fact that he never won a championship during his playing career. As a coach, his goal is to lead the Stars to a championship. He also wants to become manager of the Stars.
Hwang Jin-Ho and Jo Dong-Hee fight fiercely for the team on the baseball field and an intense power struggle takes place in the dugout and clubhouse.
