Park Bo-Gum, Joo Won, Jung Jae-Young, Lee Sun-Bin and Bibi star in the historical action film “Sword: The Sword of Godumakhan” (literal title). The film will be directed by Kim Han-Min (“Roaring Currents”). The story of “Sword: The Sword of Godumakhan” takes place in 668, just after the fall of Goguryeo. Park Bo-Gum will play Chil-Seong, who has lost his memory and participates in a gladiator tournament. His rival in the tournament is Kyepil Ha-Ryeok played by Joo Won.

“Sword: The Sword of Godumakhan” is expected to be released in summer 2027 in South Korea.

Plot synopsis by AsianWiki: In 668, shortly after the fall of Goguryeo, Chil-Seong (Park Bo-Gum) is a slave who has lost his memory and struggles to survive as a slave gladiator. He participates in a gladiatorial tournament for the legendary Sword of Godumakhan. He becomes a rival to the cold-blooded warrior Kyepil Ha-Ryeok (Joo Won). Kyepil Ha-Ryeok participates in the gladiator tournament and represents Gokturk.

Meanwhile, Heuk Su Kang (Jung Jae-Young) is the leader of the Goguryeo Restoration Army and has trained Chil-Seong as a true warrior. He is secretly working to restore Goguryeo. Maya (Lee Sun-Bin) is a member of the Goguryeo Restoration Army. In-Jeong (Bibi) is the daughter of Heuk Su Kang.
