Kaho was cast in the lead role in the NHK drama series “The Diary of a Novelist”. Also starring in the drama series are Sylvia Grab, Itsuji Itao, Satoru Matsuo and Yuta Hayashi. The suspenseful human drama will revolve around a diary left behind by a deceased writer and the secret actions taken by two women over the diary. Kaho will play Megumi Eto, who is an editor.

Plot synopsis by AsianWiki: Megumi Eto (Kaho) is about to work with famous writer Tamaki Serizawa (Itsuji Itao) as an editor, but he dies suddenly after falling down the stairs. A year later, she learns from Tamaki Serizawa’s wife, Mariko (Sylvia Grab), that she has an unpublished manuscript by her late husband. Megumi Eto visits Mariko. She finds a diary written by Tamaki Serizawa. She reads the journal enthusiastically, but some of the writing reads differently from Tamaki Serizawa’s past works. She wonders who wrote the diary? It turns out that Mariko added items to the journal based on Tamaki Serizawa’s concerns that he expressed to a generative AI application during his lifetime. To get back on her feet as an editor, Megumi Eto makes Mariko an offer she shouldn’t make.
