Masato Sakai and Haruka Igawa are in the cast of the film “Hiraba no Tsuki”. The film is based on the 2018 novel “Hiraba no Tsuki” by Kasumi Asakura and directed by Nobuhiro Doi (“The Voice of Sin”). For actor Masato Sakai, “Hiraba no Tsuki” will be his first leading role in a film since the 2018 film “Sakura Guardian in the North.” The film “Hiraba no Tsuki” will tell a love story between two people who meet for the first time since their middle school days, around 35 years ago.

“Hiraba no Tsuki” will be released next year in Japan.

Plot synopsis by AsianWiki: Kensho Aoto (Masato Sakai), 50, divorced and returned to his hometown. He starts working for a printing company and leads a quiet life. He meets Yoko Sudo (Haruka Igawa), whom he last saw 35 years ago in middle school. Yoko Sudo is a widow and earns her living by working part-time. They spend time together and become attracted to each other.
